Anyone who knows me knows that I love all things sugary. And it doesn't really get any more sugary than cotton candy. It was a lot of fun to make and to eat.

Christmas Card Challenges #10 -- Create your own Backgrounds

This week's optional challenge, in addition to making a holiday or Christmas card at Christmas Card Challenges is a fun one. We want you to make your own background.

My card is also for PTI's Day 1 anniversary festivities. I chose the card Maile Belles posted. I love the background, colors and buttons. I love all the projects from the PTI designers and am happy to have found this company to ~~help make me go broke~~ support.
I chose one of the images from PTI's Cheveron Stripes to create my background. I just stamped the image 5 times.

The only thing I'm not sure about my card is the pink gemstones I've got. All I know is that I wanted to add just a touch of these to the card but really was at a loss to place them. Plus, I was thinking that I should add a third but really couldn't find a good place for it. What do you all think? I wish I was better at knowing what looked good visually.

Will any of you be watching the Super Bowl? We love football in our house but this game just seems so anti-climatic to me. I'll be rooting for the Giants, even though I am not a fan of Eli Manning, as it was the Patriots who stomped on my team a few weeks ago to end their playoffs.

I decided that my sentiment I used, from a retired CTMH stamp set, would count as my doodling. I made a set of 8 cards like this for a friend at work who wanted some Spanish holiday cards.

My card is definitely very CAS but I absolutely adore it. If I had procrastinated this year and hadn't been making unique Christmas cards every week, it would be one I would mass produce. Lucky for me, I don't have to mass produce as my Christmas cards are almost all done to start sending out in just a couple of weeks!

Happy Wednesday to you. This week's Studio J layout features pictures taken Christmas 2008. This is probably one of my favorite patterns from CTMH with all the angled pictures. I love that all I have to do is drag my photos in and the software does the rest. I don't think that I would be able to make this layout using tradtional scrapbooking, as I'm pretty sure I couldn't get the angles to work out right.

The kids and Devin are home today with a snow day. Unfortunately, no such thing for me. Lots of snow for the first snow of the season. Have a lovely Wednesday!

Sorry it's been so quiet around my blog lately. Life is so busy right now and I just haven't been able to keep up with my blog like I'd like. Add I've been sick for more than a week. I did go to the doctor this week and got some meds so I am feeling better but still not 100%.

Now I know lots of people out there do vintage very well. I, however, am not one of those people. I raided my paper stash and came up this pretty paper from the Blitzen Basic Grey collection. My card today is for this week's Christmas Card Challenge. This week, our optional challenge on top of making a Christmas or holiday card is to use glitter.

My paper has some glittered parts and I also made the two strips of glitter at the bottom of the card by taking two pieces of 1/8" scor tape and then sprinkling glitter over top. Such a fun look, don't you think? I also distressed the edges of my patterned paper.

Christmas Card Challenges #34

It's week #34 for Christmas Card Challenges and this week's optional challenge is plaid. Remember though that the only real rule to play along is to make a Christmas or holiday card and to have fun.

I finally got to use this fun jar set from PTI and boy was it fun to use. It did take me awhile to color in all the candies, though, but I love the look.

So here's a friendly reminder that Christmas Eve is only 5 months away. :) I don't know about you but I think the next 5 months are going to fly by. I'm so glad that I have a great stash of Christmas cards ready to be mailed come beginning of December. You can have that stash too, all you need to do is play along.

Anything Goes for Lollipop Crafts

Hi friends. Happy 1st day of July. Can you believe that the year is officially half over? Yikes! My card today is for the special month long challenge over at Lollipop Crafts which is an anything goes. My card is the prototype I made for my local card swap that I'm involved with. The theme for July is baby boy. I did something which I don't normally do but should do more often which was to do the inside of the card as well. I really wanted to use the sentiment but didn't have any place for in on the card front. My paper has lots of texture and some glitter. And I just love that little car and matching die from PTI.

Capitol Reef

Hi friends. I'm sorry that it's been pretty quiet around my blog here as of late. Life has been crazy around the Moses household and blogging has been put on the back burner. My commenting has also taken a back seat. I'm hoping to get back in the swing of things but who knows.

We just got back into town from Utah. We spent the first few days of the week enjoying time with family in northern Utah. For the last few days, we went to the Capitol Reef National Park area for a family reunion for Devin's family.

We camped in a woodsy area that was much cooler (thank heavens) than Capitol Reef. Here's a few pictures from the morning going down to Capitol Reef and a very small town called Fruita, an oasis with greenery and orchards, nestled in the national park.

I'm happy to be participating in PTI's blog hop this month. Participants are to use flowers. I used my favorite flower dies from PTI and some gorgeous chocolate felt to create my flowers.

I've also seen a few people use a card front the same color as the card base so I thought I'd try that. I also found this embossing folder in my stash that I thought matched the pattern in the background image I used for the focal image.

I lastly decided to swipe the edge of the card front with some fresh snow ink. Unfortunately, I didn't do that great of a job. Too thick in some places and not enough in others.

Hello friends. I hope this day finds you all doing well. I've got a card today using some PTI goodness.

I stamped both the leaves and the flower with versamark ink onto the dies that I first cut out. Seriously, who doesn't just love stamps with matching dies? I have never been a big cutter (I think I'm scissor challenged LOL) and I could never get the results that a die will produce. Plus, it's a huge time saver, which I'm all about.

The photo didn't come out very well but the card base is white with PTI's spring moss covering the rest of the card front.

Happy Birthday Rocker Style

I made this card for a local swap I'm participating in using my fun new set from PTI, Boy Basics: Rock On. Isn't that font so fabulous? And the guitar, with the matching die? Swoon.

I die cut the guitar twice and thought the addition of the second die cut in just the cardstock made the guitar look a bit more realistic and gave it some depth. Also, I haven't used conchos in a long time but thought the card needed some metal on it so I broke them out.

Life is busy at the Moses household. Lots of activities for the end of the school year in addition to the regular ones we have every week. I guess I wouldn't know what to do with myself if life ever calmed down a bit.

Last night, we attended the awards night for this semester of karate. Both kids earned their green-black belts and made good improvement in their skill set. I am actually thinking of taking up karate this summer with them. The dojo has a class for older students and adults. I think I might enjoy it. We'll see how brave I am.

My Mother's Day was good. Devin and the kids got me a shirt and some necklace/earring sets. We had my parents and friends over for a yummy dinner that night.

So today my little boy, who is growing up before my very eyes, turned 8. He is such a smart and funny little boy, who makes me laugh, who melts my heart, and sometimes, who drives me crazy. :) Oh, and I can't forget super cute.

We had a birthday party for him yesterday, Starwars themed. He loves anything Starwars and legos, so was thrilled when he received several Starwars lego sets and a new Starwars lego Wii game and shirt.

American Cancer Society -- Relay for Life

Hi friends. Cancer is something that affects nearly everyone. Unfortunately, it is a part of life but we can help fight against it.

Reynna, my 11 year-old daughter, and myself, have joined my work's Relay for Life team. We will be walking the first week in June to help fight Cancer and promote awareness for Relay for Life.

Can I get a big woohoo for it being Friday? LOL. I'm happy that the work week is drawing to a close and that we will be celebrating Easter soon.

I haven't gotten to play in the challenges over at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps in quite awhile but managed to make a card for this week's challenge, which is to use a handmade embellishment. I used a rolled flower die from MFT for my handmade embellishment.

Prom Night 2011

So this is my last layout that I've done with Studio J. {insert sad face here} I am working on more but haven't finalized them or ordered them yet. This layout features pictures taken the night Reynna had her friend birthday party last November.

It's time for another fabulous challenge at Christmas Card Challenges. The optional challenge this week no stamping. And remember, the only real rule is that you make a holiday or Christmas card.
My card doesn't get much easier than this. Just some die cuts and poof, one more card to add to my stash.

Portland Zoo Studio J Layout

First off, I want to wish a very happy birthday to my good friend Melissa. I hope you're having a great day.

While we were in Portland last summer, we also stopped by the zoo there. The ticket booth to the zoo was within walking distance from where we were staying with my wonderful cousin David. You pay and then take a train ride to get you to the actual zoo entrance. We had a great time at this zoo.

That's all I have for today. Yeah for it being Wednesday.

Christmas Card Challenges #16

This week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges is to use one patterned paper, a rub on and incorporate stars into your project. I think this might be the most simple card I've ever made but I love the patterned paper and I love the bottom edge.
